About MK Nodes: Triplanar & Directional Mapping for Shader Graph
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Development Tools & Automation
- Art & Visuals > VFX
- Art & Visuals > Textures & Materials
Create triplanar, directional, and camera-facing projection materials directly inside Shader Graph.
MK Nodes: Triplanar & Directional Mapping is a focused Shader Graph node package for artists and technical artists who want clean texture projection workflows without writing shader code.
Use it to project regular textures and normal maps without relying only on UVs.
You are able to sample textures or blend values in local and global space.
Local Space: The texture sticks to the object and moves, rotates, and scales with it.
Global Space: The texture stays fixed in the world while objects move or rotate through it.
What’s included
Triplanar Mapping
Project textures and normal maps from multiple axes and blend them based on the surface direction.
Directional Mapping
Project textures or normal maps from a custom direction.
Towards Camera Projection
Project textures or normal maps based on the camera direction.
Blend Nodes
Use reusable blend nodes to combine any colors or values.
Included nodes
- Sample Texture Triplanar
- Sample Texture Triplanar Fast - Approximated Triplanar Mapping that only uses 1 texture sample
- Sample Normal Map Triplanar
- Sample Normal Map Triplanar Fast - Approximated Triplanar Mapping that only uses 1
- Sample Texture Directional
- Sample Normal Map Directional
- Sample Texture Towards Camera
- Sample Normal Map Towards Camera
- Blend Triplanar
- Blend Directional
