About Build Environment Drift Guard

Builds become hard to trust when developer machines and CI agents quietly stop agreeing. Build Environment Drift Guard records the environment your project is meant to use, commits that contract with the project, and explains every mismatch before it changes an output. What it helps you do: Capture editor version and installed modules, resolved packages, project settings, toolchains, and selected environment variables. Compare another workstation or build agent with the committed contract. Separate project-owned drift from machine-owned drift so the right person can act. Diagnose Android JDK, SDK, NDK, Gradle, desktop toolchain, package lock, and settings differences. Redact sensitive values while keeping useful evidence. Export deterministic JSON, Markdown, and self-contained HTML reports. Fail a local check or CI build on the severities you choose. Use it when a build works on one machine but not another, a hosted agent changes underneath you, or a release needs a repeatable record of its build environment. The tool observes and reports. It never installs an editor, changes a toolchain, edits project settings, or copies credentials into a report. A matching contract improves reproducibility but cannot prove two machines will produce bit-identical binaries.
