About UI Glitch Effect
- Art & Visuals > VFX
It allows you to apply an animated digital glitch effect directly to UI Images without creating or managing separate materials manually. All effect settings are exposed in the Inspector and can also be controlled through scripts or Unity's Animation system.
The effect combines multiple adjustable glitch techniques:
• Scanline jitter
• Adjustable jitter block size
• Vertical image jumping
• Horizontal shaking
• RGB color channel drift
• Customizable scanline color
• Adjustable scanline size
• Adjustable color intensity
The included runtime component automatically creates and updates the required UI material. Each affected UI element receives its own runtime material instance, allowing different settings to be used on multiple UI objects simultaneously.
UI Glitch Effect is suitable for:
• Sci-fi interfaces
• Cyberpunk menus
• Horror game UI
• Damaged screen effects
• Holographic interfaces
• Warning and alert animations
• Digital distortion transitions
• Retro monitor effects
The shader package is designed to support Unity's Built-in Render Pipeline, Universal Render Pipeline, and High Definition Render Pipeline.
Sprite Atlas handling, UI tinting, stencil masking, UI Mask, RectMask2D, and alpha clipping support are included for integration with standard Unity UI workflows.
The package also includes a vertex scaling component that can enlarge the generated UI mesh when stronger distortion settings would otherwise extend beyond the original image boundaries.
No third-party runtime dependencies are required.
