About Tropical Grove - 32 Palm & Jungle Trees (LOD, URP)
- Theme > Nature & Countryside
- Art & Visuals > 3D
Tropical Trees Pack gives you 32 stylized trees in four species groups: coconut, royal and areca palms, rain tree, mango, jackfruit, teak, rubber, mahogany, banyan, bo and more. Each group shares one texture set, so a whole forest costs only a handful of materials.
Every tree is a ready-to-use prefab with a four-level LODGroup (three real geometry levels plus a 2-triangle camera-facing billboard), capsule colliders that follow the trunk, and a lightweight vertex-color wind shader. Open the playable demo, walk through a 300 × 300 m forest, then use the included tools to build your own.
Species groups
Palms: coconut (straight, leaning, young), king coconut, areca (single and cluster), kitul, royal palm
Lowland Broadleaf: rain tree (giant and young), Indian almond, mango, jackfruit, breadfruit, tamarind, neem
Plantation: rubber (mature and tapped), mahogany (mature and young), teak, albizia, gliricidia, roadside jackfruit
Wet Zone: bo, banyan with aerial roots, kitul (mossy and cluster), hora, na, wild cinnamon, ficus
What's included
32 trees (FBX), 4 species groups × 8 trees, from 6.5 m to 27 m tall
64 prefabs: 32 combined-LOD prefabs (fewer draw calls, recommended) and 32 animation-ready prefabs with every branch and frond kept separate
4-level LODGroup on every tree: LOD0, LOD1 and LOD2 geometry plus an LOD3 billboard
Trunk-following capsule colliders (1 to 9 per tree)
8 shared materials (bark and foliage for each group) with GPU instancing enabled
Custom URP vegetation shader: vertex-color wind, two-sided alpha-cutout foliage, normal maps, soft leaf lighting and sun-through-leaves translucency, all adjustable on the material
16 textures at 2048 × 2048 (BaseColor, Normal, MaskMap and AO for each group)
Playable demo scene: a walkable forest with a dirt path, four species zones, undergrowth, rocks, lighting and a first-person player (WASD, mouse look, sprint)
Showcase scene: every tree labeled, a side-by-side LOD0–LOD3 comparison and a human-scale reference
Documentation: installation, getting started, tree setup, materials, LOD, terrain, placement, performance, platform notes and troubleshooting
Editor tools
Tree Placement Tool: species weights, density, min/max spacing, random rotation and scale, slope and height limits, exclusion zones, seed control and full Undo
Terrain Generator: Small, Medium, Large and Performance-test presets with adjustable size and resolution
Validator: checks models, textures, materials, prefabs and scene dependencies and reports pass, warning or error
Demo scene builders, so you can rebuild the demo and showcase from the menu
Easy to customizeEdit the shared textures to re-skin a whole species group at once, tune wind strength and speed, leaf softness and translucency on the materials, and adjust LOD transitions in each prefab's LOD Group. A setup command rebuilds materials and prefabs if you change the textures.
Good to know
The vegetation shader reacts to the scene's main directional light and ambient light. Extra point or spot lights do not affect bark or foliage.
Not tested: on-device Android and iOS performance, iOS builds, HDRP and the Built-in Render Pipeline. Performance depends on your scene and how many trees you place.
The trees are stylized models, not botanical scans.
Do not enable "Generate Lightmap UVs" on the tree FBX files. The second UV set carries the billboard flag.
Not included: ground or grass textures (the demo uses simple placeholder ground), rock models (the demo rocks are simple shapes), sound and animation clips.
