Substratum was created as a way to create scenes with silhouette edges.
It uses a screen space extrusion mapping to create amazing surface detail from heightmap and noise functions.
Substratum is a starting point for new projects, not a replacement for your existing renderer since it may not support the features you are already using. Substrum completely replaces the opaque and lighting passes with an optimized MRT and PBR solution to achieve this effect.
Requires Unity 6.7 Beta (6000.7.0a2 or later) since it uses built in screen space reflections.
