Everything you need to create a great-looking 2D shoot'em up — and a whole lot more. Shoot'Em Up Kit 2D gives you a huge collection of ready-to-use graphics, effects, prefabs, audio and game content for creating classic arcade shooters, space shooters and modern SHMUPs in Unity. Mix and match ships, enemies, bosses, weapons, backgrounds and effects to create your own visual style — or use the included content as a complete starting point for your game. A Huge Collection of Game-Ready Content: 150+ background sprites, 50+ animated enemies, 10+ unique bosses with ready-made behaviors, 150+ gameplay prefabs designed to work together out of the box, 20+ particle effects including explosions, sparks and smoke, 14 weapon types and pickups including lasers, cannons and shields, 50+ additional sprites for bullets, obstacles and other gameplay elements, 5 complete level themes — Rocky, Crystal, Steel, Ice and Planetary, 30+ sound effects including weapons, explosions, pickups and UI sounds, 5 original soundtracks, a complete sci-fi user interface, ready-to-use player ships, enemies, bosses, pickups, weapons and effects. The artwork and gameplay content are designed as one coherent package, making it easy to combine assets instead of building every element from scratch. Drop In. Press Play. The included gameplay prefabs are designed to interact with each other automatically. Drop a player, an enemy and a pickup into a scene and the basic gameplay relationships are already there. The player can collect the pickup. Player weapons can damage and destroy the enemy. Enemies can damage the player. Players and enemies can collide. Weapons, pickups, health, damage and destruction systems already understand how to work together. You do not have to manually connect every object before you can start experimenting. Enemy movement and movement AI remain separate, giving you full freedom to decide how enemies move and behave while the underlying gameplay interactions continue to work. This makes the included prefabs useful as true building blocks rather than isolated examples. Create a scene, combine the pieces you want and start playing. Complete Games & Templates Included: Shoot'Em Up Kit 2D also includes complete playable games, templates and examples showing how the included artwork, prefabs and gameplay systems can be combined. Zig Zag - A complete game template featuring unique controls, procedural level generation and tools for quickly reskinning the game. Use it as a finished example, learning resource or starting point for your own project. Drone Defender - A complete action-packed shoot'em up game built using the included systems and content. The package also contains additional demos and examples covering different styles of classic arcade shooters, including Space Invaders and Galaga-inspired gameplay. Take them apart, modify them, reuse individual systems or use them as the foundation for something completely different. Wait — There's More! Shoot'Em Up Kit 2D isn't just a collection of artwork and prefabs. Behind all that content is a complete set of Unity Editor tools and gameplay systems designed specifically to make building shoot'em ups faster. You can use as much — or as little — of this additional functionality as you need. SHMUP Builder: The included SHMUP Builder provides a dedicated Unity Editor workflow for rapidly assembling your own shoot'em up. Set up players, enemies, formations, sequences, bosses and other gameplay elements without having to build the entire structure manually. Because the underlying prefabs already share the same gameplay systems, the Builder can focus on composing your game instead of wiring basic interactions together. You can get started without writing code while still having full access to the underlying components when you want deeper customization. Player Configurator: The dedicated Player Configurator makes it easier to create and configure player setups directly inside Unity. Adjust player-related settings from one convenient editor workflow and quickly experiment with different configurations without repeatedly searching through objects and components. Product Navigator: The included Product Navigator provides quick in-editor access to important scenes, examples, assets, tools and documentation. Spend less time digging through project folders and more time working on your game. A Complete Gameplay Architecture Underneath: For developers who want to go deeper, Shoot'Em Up Kit 2D includes the same underlying systems used by the included games, demos and editor tools. Ignition - The underlying application and gameplay framework used throughout the package. Pyro - Gameplay systems focused on shoot'em up mechanics such as players, enemies, weapons, damage, pickups and related interactions. EasyGameUI - Reusable systems for game flow, transitions, lives, score and user-interface management. You are never required to use the entire framework. The package is deliberately modular. Need artwork? Use the artwork. Need ready-made gameplay objects? Drop in the prefabs. Need a quick prototype? Combine the interactive building blocks. Need a starting project? Use one of the included games or templates. Want to build a complete SHMUP? Use the Builder, Configurator and underlying gameplay systems. Built for Customization: Shoot'Em Up Kit 2D is intended to be a starting point, not a closed system. Combine the included content in new ways, replace the artwork, create your own enemies, build new weapons, change gameplay rules or extend the supplied systems with your own code. The included games and examples demonstrate what can be built with the package, but they are not the limit of what you can create. Made for Modern Unity Development: Designed for Unity 6, URP compatible, Custom Unity Editor tooling, Modular gameplay systems, Reworked SHMUP Builder, Dedicated Player Configurator, Extensive examples and templates, Reusable gameplay prefabs, Actively maintained and expanded. Start with the artwork. Drop in the gameplay. Build as much — or as little — as you want. Shoot'Em Up Kit 2D gives you the content to make your shooter look great, the building blocks to make it playable, and the tools to take it much further.
