About RTGUI - Runtime Tool GUI Framework
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Development Tools & Automation
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Learning & Tutorials
RTGUI is a code-first runtime GUI framework for Unity. Build runtime tools, inspectors, debug panels, dockable windows, editor-style interfaces, and in-game utility panels directly from C#. RTGUI is built on Unity's IMGUI and GUI API and is designed for developer-facing runtime UI rather than traditional gameplay HUDs. RTGUI helps you build editor-like runtime tools inside Play Mode or standalone builds. It is useful for runtime inspectors, hierarchy windows, debug consoles, property panels, tool palettes, custom level-editing tools, diagnostic windows, and similar systems. The package does not require a visual UI builder. UI is created from code using explicit rectangles, layout helpers, styles, skins, and reusable runtime window classes. Key Features: Runtime Window System with standard runtime windows, reusable window classes, utility windows, popup windows, and message boxes. Docking and Workspace Layouts with dockable windows, dock host layouts, and workspace-style runtime editor interfaces. Menus and Commands UI including menu bars, popup menus, context menus, access keys, accelerator display text, toolbar and icon button workflows. Runtime Tool Controls including buttons, labels, toggles, foldouts, text fields, numeric fields, sliders, color fields, vector fields, and enum fields. Lists, Trees and Data Views featuring list views, grid views, tree views, selection, rename, search, drag and drop, and filtering. Layout and Drawing with explicit rectangle-based layout, scroll views, splitters, and custom drawing helpers. Styling and Skins with customizable colors, spacing, fonts, textures, and control styling. Runtime Input Integration for coordinating runtime UI with scene cameras, selection systems, and gameplay input. Scripting Tutorials are included demonstrating practical usage patterns step by step.
