About Node-Based Procedural Map Generator
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Development Tools & Automation
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Level & World Building
Create dungeons, caves, mazes, islands, rivers, biome regions, corridors, ruins, hazards, vegetation, loot locations, patrol routes, secret passages, and other procedural layouts by connecting generation nodes in an editor graph.
Generation is deterministic: using the same graph, dimensions, and seed produces the same result. Maps can be generated directly in the Unity Editor or at runtime through the included Map Generator Runner component.
Floor, wall, and decoration content can use separate Tilemaps. Decoration nodes place content over existing floor tiles without replacing them. Directional walls, corners, biome transitions, tile variations, and multi-cell vegetation placement are supported.
The package does not include third-party sprites or art assets. A lightweight demo scene creates simple procedural tiles in memory, while production projects can use any compatible Unity Tile or Sprite assets.
The package includes documented example graphs, a node reference, setup instructions, source code, and EditMode tests. All generator settings and node graphs can be customized for different genres, including roguelikes, dungeon crawlers, strategy games, survival games, and top-down RPGs.
