Because the idea has proven popular, AI-generated copycat packages have started appearing in the store, claiming to match or exceed what Mfuscator does. Since anyone can become a publisher, many of these are quick cash-grabs with little real engineering behind them and go unmaintained soon after release. Before choosing a protection tool, please check how long it's been around, how active its update history is, and whether the publisher responds to support requests and reviews.

Mfuscator was created to protect Unity IL2CPP builds using several uncommon techniques found in AAA games (e.g., Genshin Impact). These techniques include layout-randomized metadata encryption, export modification, and initialization pattern obfuscation.
The purpose of Mfuscator is to prevent automatic dumping and impede the reverse-engineering efforts of hackers targeting your projects. It is different from more widely known obfuscation methods for Mono (e.g., "control flow") by ensuring that runtime performance remains unaffected while making reverse-engineering (or dumping) tools for Unity IL2CPP fail.
The process is automated and seamlessly integrated, requiring no manual configuration or documentation reading. By importing Mfuscator and initiating the build, the protection measures are applied.
Compatibility
Editor (Host): Windows, Linux, and macOS - 2021 LTS/2022 LTS/6.0 LTS/6.3 LTS, x64 (AMD64).
Target Platforms: Windows, Linux, macOS (experimental), Android, and iOS (for advanced users, experimental).
A project must be built in a compatible Unity Editor (listed above). "Headless" building (-batchmode) is supported. The macOS version now exclusively supports Apple Silicon processors (building on Windows ARM machines is not supported).

- One license allows a single developer to install and use the tool on up to two of their computers.
- Every team member or external contractor who directly uses this asset on your project must have their seat license.
Please ensure you purchase the appropriate number of seats to cover your development team and remain in compliance.
If you represent an established studio (10+ developers) and require a trial version to verify compatibility before entering the procurement phase, please contact us at [email protected] from your corporate email domain. We can arrange a temporary evaluation license.
The source code for the native binaries is proprietary and not available for sale to maintain effectiveness for all parties.
