This is an expansion pack for the Low Poly Modular Armors Pack. While it can be used standalone, some parts and textures from the Low Poly Modular Armors Pack are required for the full modular system and PT_Create_Prefab tool to work at their best.
LOW POLY MODULAR ARMORS — EXPANSION PACK 03
543 new modular armor parts drawn from Polytope's Low Poly Modular NPC line — peasants, citizens, tradespeople, nobles and humanoid fantasy creatures — fully rebuilt onto the base armor pack's shared rig and converted to the modular armor system. The NPCs you already use as townsfolk and background characters can now be mixed, re-equipped and baked into prefabs exactly like any base armor set.
Also included: several special undead characters (Skeleton, Vampire, Reaper) with their own set rules and _WS skin pieces that bridge exposed bone to normal armor parts cleanly.
Compatible with Built-in and URP. Mecanim and Mixamo ready.
This pack contains no animations.
SOURCE CHARACTERS
The Expansion 3 characters are drawn and converted from these Polytope packs — Expansion 3 does not require you to own them:
Low Poly Modular NPCs - Trades & Tales
Low Poly Modular NPCs - Peasants & Citizens
Low Poly Modular NPCs – Lords & Outcasts
Low Poly Fantasy Creatures (humanoid characters)
CONTENTS
- 543 modular armor parts total, male and female
- 105 body parts
- 95 leg parts
- 84 boot parts
- 82 head parts
- 49 helmet parts
- 44 gauntlet parts
- 35 beard parts
- 28 hair parts
- 21 cape parts
- 35 custom material instances
- 2 custom shaders (PBR and Toon) built with Amplify Shader Editor
- Per-material color, metallic and smoothness control
- Coat-of-arms cape texture slot — 1 included, compatible with all base pack coat-of-arms textures
- Base 256x256 color texture atlas — one material per character, low draw calls
- PT_Create_Prefab editor tool (editor only, from the base pack)
- Polycount range: 92 — 6,096 tris per part
- All sets appear in the Armor Set dropdown grouped under Ex3
SPECIAL SET RULES
A few Expansion 3 characters follow additional rules so they look correct out of the box:
Skeleton — ships with no helmet and no hair (bare skull). Missing parts borrow from the Skeleton parts rather than the base naked set.
Vampire (x2) — ship with no helmet and no hair.
Reaper — treated as skeletal for part fallbacks, but keeps its own helmet and hair.
All standard tag rules apply to every other Expansion 3 character identically to the base pack (_NG, _NL, _NH, _NB, _LB, _S, _L, _WH, _NV and tiers _A/_B/_C). See the Documentation for the full tag reference.
HOW EXPANSION PACKS WORK
1. Import this pack into a project that already contains the base Low Poly Modular Armors pack.
2. Open the master prefab in the scene and select/add the PT_Create_Prefab component.
3. Drag this pack's master prefab into the Import Expansion slot in the inspector.
4. This pack's sets appear in the Armor Set dropdown under Ex3, ready to mix with base and other expansion parts.
From there, Expansion 3 characters behave exactly like base sets — select, mix, recolor, randomize, and bake a prefab.
SHADERS
Expansion 3 reuses the base pack's two custom Amplify shaders — no additional setup needed:
PBR Shader — adjust color, metallic and smoothness for three independent material groups; load and tint a coat-of-arms texture.
Toon Shader — adjust color for three independent material groups; load and tint a coat-of-arms texture; configure up to three scene lights with adjustable size, power and tint.
Both shaders work with Built-in and URP. For accurate colors, set your project Color Space to Linear (Edit > Project Settings > Player > Other Settings > Color Space).
