About Lobby for Photon Fusion 2
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Game Templates & Systems
- Art & Visuals > UI & GUI
Players type a name, browse a live list of open rooms, and select-then-join so nobody ever lands in the wrong match by accident — or spin up their own room in one tap. Inside the room they see a live roster, flip Ready, and trade messages in in-room chat. The host runs the show with a Start button that stays locked until everyone is ready, a cancellable countdown, and the power to kick players. When the host leaves, there are no frozen screens — everyone gets a clean "Host left" prompt and a way back to the lobby. The tricky real-world edge cases that usually surface after launch are already handled.
Fully customizable
Every tunable lives in one tidy LobbyConfig.cs file — player min/max, countdown length, chat history, nickname rules, matchmaking key, scene order, even the standalone window size — each documented with a sensible range. The UI is standard Unity uGUI + TextMeshPro, generated by a one-click Editor builder, so you can restyle colours, fonts, and layout freely or rebuild it your way. The code is clean, senior-level C# (one responsibility per file, explicit control flow, no hidden LINQ) with every authored comment prefixed GauntletSystems:, plus a bundled Class Reference — so extending it is straightforward, not a reverse-engineering exercise.
This is a Tools asset, not a game in a box — it is genre-agnostic and drops in front of any Fusion 2 project. Its Shared-Mode topology is ideal for party games, co-op, social and casual multiplayer, board/card games, and prototypes. An included demo gameplay scene proves the full lobby-to-game hand-off; replace it with your own scene and you are shipping multiplayer.
