About Katana Animation Pack | First person
- Theme > Military & Combat
- Art & Visuals > 3D
The cuts come from six sides: top, middle and low, from the right and from the left. There's a stab too. Each of the six cuts also has a hit version, where the blade bites and slows down over six frames before it carries on, so a swing that lands doesn't look like one that misses. Play the plain clip on a miss and the hit clip on contact.
Blocking is its own set. Raise the guard, hold it, take three different knocks on the blade, or parry.
The katana is a rigged mesh with a separate bone for the sheath. Equip draws the sword and UnEquip puts it away. Every clip comes with a prop clip that plays next to the arms, so the handle stays in the fingers instead of floating.
Open the demo scene in FP/Demo and press Play. Pick a category on the right, step through the clips with the arrow keys or the < > buttons, and walk with W A S D or the on-screen stick. The Animator Controller behind it is in the pack too, with walk, jog and crouch walk already set up as 2D blend trees.
There are no diagonal moves in this one. In first person the hands do the same thing whichever way you walk, so forward, back, left and right cover it. The third person pack has the diagonals.
Made in Unity 6 (6000.0) with URP. The katana uses a URP Lit material, so on the Built-in pipeline you'll have to switch it to Standard.
