About Huge Texture
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Development Tools & Automation
Huge Texture lets you import and use images larger than Unity’s standard 8192×8192 texture limit.
The asset automatically splits the source image into smaller parts and stores them as a Texture2D Array. These parts are combined in the shader without additional draw calls and with minimal performance impact.
Features:
Supports PNG and JPEG up to 16384×16384
Supports RAW up to 2 GB (0.715 gigapixels)
Automatic conversion to Texture2D Array
No extra draw calls compared to a regular texture
Supports mip maps and normal maps
Compatible with Built-in Render Pipeline, URP, and HDRP
Optional integration with Mesh to Terrain and Real World Terrain
Before purchase, please make sure your target setup fits the requirements:
the platform supports Texture Arrays
the target field accepts Texture, not only Texture2D
the target component allows a custom material or shader
If your project needs more texture detail than Unity’s regular workflow can comfortably provide, Huge Texture gives you a practical way to push visual quality further.
