About Companion / Pet System
The package is suitable for RPG, adventure, survival, casual, cozy, prototype, and third-person projects. It can be used as a quick drop-in system for a small project or as a starting point for a larger companion feature.
The companion behavior is intentionally simple and easy to understand. A companion follows a target transform, keeps a configurable distance, stops when close enough, and can be switched into a wait mode. This makes it useful for games where the player needs a helper, follower, pet, partner, or support character.
The stats system includes level, upgrade points, movement speed, turn speed, follow distance, stopping distance, stamina, and loyalty. These values can be adjusted in the Inspector or modified through code, making the system easy to balance for different game styles.
A demo player controller is included to show basic movement and companion commands. You can use it for testing or replace it with your own player controller. The companion controller only needs a target transform, so it can be connected to almost any existing character setup.
The package also includes ready prefabs, Unity materials, a demo scene, and documentation in multiple formats. The code is commented to make it easier to understand, customize, and extend.
