About Arrow Escape Snake Escape Game Template with Runtime Level Editor
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Game Templates & Systems
- Tools, Systems & Learning > Level & World Building
Players clear a board by removing tangled snakes one at a time — each snake needs a clear path off the grid before it can be pulled free, creating classic "untangle" style puzzle gameplay. Snakes are fully procedural (no sprite art required), rendered with smooth rounded bodies, animated eyes, and a forked tongue that reacts to direction.
The included in-game Level Editor lets you design levels visually, right inside Play mode: click to draw snakes across the grid, toggle overlap and diagonal-movement rules, recolor snakes with a live preview, nudge an entire layout by one cell, and export finished levels as reusable data assets — all without touching a script.
Every system (grid generation, snake rendering, level data, timer, win detection, UI) is built with clean, consistently documented, event-driven C# so it's easy to read, extend, or restyle for your own game.
Includes:
- Procedural grid generator (any size/aspect ratio)
- Procedural animated snake rendering
- Full in-game Level Editor with save/export
- ScriptableObject-based level data
- Win detection, timer, and results UI
- Fully commented, XML-documented codebase
No custom shaders or SRP-specific dependencies — works with Built-in, URP, and HDRP out of the box.
