Every skill plays its own animation, lands on the impact frame measured from the clip and shows a ground indicator while it winds up. Rocks, spikes, pillars and the stone wall are real 3D meshes with a lit toon rock shader: they rise out of the floor, cast shadows, hold, then crumble away. Tornadoes chase their target, walls block the way, breath streams follow the head, waves of spikes run along the ground and meteors fall from the sky.
Deaths make sense: fluid-filled creatures burst into venom, fiery ones erupt into lava, and frost, storm and crystal creatures burst with their own element, hurting the opponent close to the body. Every other creature dies normally and crumbles into ash while it dissolves. Hits leave their mark too: a burning, chilled, shocked, poisoned or bleeding creature takes the color of the element for a few seconds.
Every creature is a ready-to-use prefab with its own Animator Controller, material and collider, and comes with a full gameplay animation set: personality idles, walks, run, sprint, 90 degree turns, attacks, hit, stun and two different deaths, plus creature-specific actions such as rolling, curling into a ball, burrowing, shell guard, sucking and pouncing. Winged species ship with ground and flight sets linked by takeoff and landing, and three creatures only fly.
Features
- 21 creatures: beetles, pill bugs, scarab, weevil, scorpion, mosquito, gnat, fly, dragonfly, moth, leafwing, honeypot ant, grubs and a shell crawler
- 367 animation clips at 30 fps, in place
- Enemy roles: tanks, bruisers, assassins, mages, healers, skirmishers
- 72 skills (2 to 4 per creature) and 109 VFX prefabs across 14 elements: earth, rock, sand, magma, ice, nature, water, wind, storm, holy, arcane, shadow, blood and poison
- Six skill types on top of melee, projectiles, areas, leaps, buffs, shields, heals, drains, stealth and ambushes: Breath (a stream that follows the head), Wave (spikes and pillars that run along the ground), Rain (meteors, sky bolts, moon dust), Summon (walls that block, tornadoes that chase), Dash (charges and rolls through the target), Beam (lightning lash, sunbeam)
- 3D rock meshes (rocks, boulder, spikes, pillar, stone wall, crystal shard) with a lit toon rock shader: element tint, glowing magma cracks, shadows, crumble dissolve
- Attack indicators (circle, cone, line) that show reach and timing, ground area borders, stun with stars circling the head
- Elemental deaths (acid, fire, frost, shock, shard and brood bursts), ash dissolve for the others
- Elemental afflictions: the body takes the color of the element (burn, chill, shock, poison, bleed), with damage over time for burn, poison and bleed
- Idle breaks: a creature that stands still plays its second idle or its own idle action
- Ground and flight forms with takeoff / landing
- Blend shapes for rolling plates, shell guards and wing cases, keyed inside the clips
- PBR textures per creature: Base Color, Normal, Mask (AO / Roughness / Metallic), 2048 px
- Custom URP shader: normal and mask maps, outline, rim light, stylized clay lighting, hit flash and dissolve
- All-in-one VFX shader (atlas + 16 element ramps + particle custom data), heat distortion, soft particles, fresnel crystals
- Pooled VFX runtime (VFXPool, PooledVFX, VFXProjectile, VFXBeam, VFXTelegraph) and VFXBulletField (up to 4096 bullets, one draw call)
- VFX Playground scene: mouse aim, skill bar with cooldowns, HP bars, damage numbers, mortal / immortal target, stand / wander / fight back, auto cast, demo mode, spam test
- No foot sliding: locomotion speeds are measured from the clips, creatures turn in place with their turn clips
- Bestiary demo with fantasy UI (search, family and trait filters, animation list, playback controls) and an overview scene
- Skills editable in one data asset without code
- Works next to Alien Bugs Vol.1 (own folder, namespaces and shader names)
- Works with both Input Manager and Input System
- PDF documentation included
