⭐ Advanced AI Spawn System — Unity 6 Ready

🎮 Flexible spawning. Smarter population control. Easier setup.
Advanced AI Spawn System helps you create dynamic worlds populated with enemies, creatures and collectible objects.
Configure automatic spawn areas, manual positions, multiple zones, terrain biomes and enemy waves through dedicated Custom Editors. Organize your prefabs into reusable groups, control population limits and choose between Instantiate and Pooling to suit your gameplay.
From a simple encounter to several independently configured spawn zones, build and manage your spawning setup from one central manager.

⚙️ Requirements & Compatibility
Unity 6000.5.5f1 or newer.
Unity UI — UGUI 2.5.0: required for the existing TextTime and TextWave UI fields.
Built-in Render Pipeline supported.
URP 17.5.0 supported through dedicated demo variants.
HDRP is not officially supported.
No third-party plugins are required by the core spawning system.

🧭 AI Navigation is optional. Use Unity’s official navigation tools or connect your own movement system. Packages are never installed silently when you import the asset.

👥 Improved population accounting and repeated-death protection.
🗺️ Multiple Zones improvements for lifecycle, references and player detection.
🌿 Terrain/Biome improvements including world-space height handling, validation and cancellable position calculation.
👑 Safer boss spawning within the available population budget.
🧭 Integrated AI Navigation setup and validation tools.
🎨 Modern Custom Editors with clearer sections, configuration summaries and contextual guidance.
↩️ Supported Undo/Redo, confirmed destructive operations and no automatic scene saving.
🎮 Updated demo Input support for Legacy Input, New Input System and Both.
💡 Separate Built-in and URP demo scenes.
📚 Updated documentation, troubleshooting and a 3.4 → 4.0 migration guide.

📍 Choose How Your World Spawns

🎯 Automatic Positions

Generate AI or objects around a configurable spawn area. Set population limits, timing and optional player-proximity activation.

📌 Manual Positions

Use scene Transform references to define spawn locations. Configure multiple reference points for encounters, pickups or controlled placement.

🗺️ Multiple Zones

Create zones with different groups, radii, population settings and timing. Manage several spawning configurations from the same manager.

🌿 Terrain & Biome Spawning

Choose a Unity Terrain, select a painted Terrain Layer and configure altitude conditions. Calculate suitable positions for biome-based spawning, then recalculate when your terrain changes.

🌊 Wave Spawning

Build sequences of enemy waves with configurable groups and population settings. Connect wave-start and wave-end events to your gameplay.

👑 Boss Encounters

Configure boss prefabs and amounts through your AI groups. Boss spawning respects population limits, with an option to stop spawning when the boss dies.

♻️ Instantiate or Pooling

Instantiate Mode creates new instances and is a useful choice for AI that cannot safely reset its internal state.

Pooling Mode reuses eligible objects, reducing repeated creation and destruction. Its lifecycle tracks active objects, retirement and availability for reuse.
Supported component state can be restored during reuse. Custom health, inventory and movement scripts still need appropriate reset handling.

💡 Add AIManager to your prefab root and report death or collection through OnDead(). Do not destroy pooled objects externally.

🧭 Integrated AI Navigation Tools

Configure modern Unity navigation from the spawner’s AI Navigation tab:
Detect the official com.unity.ai.navigation package.
Install a stable compatible version through an explicit, confirmed action.
Find active and inactive NavMeshSurface components.
Create and configure a surface.
Review Agent Type, Layers, collection mode and geometry settings.
Build, update and clear surface navigation data.
Inspect NavMeshLink, NavMeshModifier and NavMeshModifierVolume configurations.
Validate AI prefabs and Agent Type compatibility.
Check representative spawn positions against available NavMesh data.
Read actionable troubleshooting messages directly in the Inspector.

AIManager handles lifecycle; NavMeshAgent handles navigation movement. NavMeshAgent is not required when using another movement system.
Position validation helps identify configuration problems, but does not guarantee every random spawn or a connected path.
🛠️ Designed for Everyday Configuration
Reusable GroupAI assets.
Relative prefab weights for randomized selection.
Configurable population limits and spawn intervals.
Separate first-spawn delay.
Player-distance activation options.
Continuous spawning and wave-based encounters.
UnityEvents for spawning, waves and player-area transitions.
Configuration warnings and helpful Inspector guidance.
Full C# source code.
Optional demo content inside Demo (Safe To Delete).

🔄 Upgrading from 3.4?

Version 4.0 preserves core serialized field names and types, UnityEvents, script GUIDs and assembly identities.
Corrected timing, weights, events and lifecycle behaviour may affect existing gameplay tuning. Back up your project and follow the migration guide before upgrading.
The demo controller is now named AdvancedSpawnDemoCharacterController, with its script GUID retained and migration metadata provided.
